Poll Vaulting: Iowans Call For Al Gore And Condoleezza Rice

An interesting new poll from The DesMoines Register gives high marks amongst likely Democratic primary voters to Al Gore and high marks amongst likely Republican primary voters to Condi Rice, Newt Gingrich and Fred Thompson…

Usually, I don’t find polls particularly meaningful, but they can be interesting or entertaining; this poll is both. The one take away from this poll is that yet again it appears as though Republicans are significantly less satisfied with their choices than the Democrats are. Enjoy!

one more reason why its a good thing that bigger, smarter states are moving up their primaries.
Condoleeza Rice - !?!? You have got to be kidding me?
I can see the political ads now. “Ms. Rice, what did the memo say?”
“It said, Bin Laden determined to fly planes into World Trade Center”
Aside from that — the polls you list are the same ones the MSM keep echoing. I think I’d tend to put more weight into the monthly straw polls that Daily Kos runs when it comes to the Democratic choice. And if you think they like Hillary; you would be wrong.
This same time in ‘03, Gepghardt was in the lead in Iowa for crying out loud.
I predict that the following two candidates will wind up with the ultimate nominates for each party:
- Romney for the Republicans (everyone says there’s no conservative, and Brownback is screaming at the top of his lungs “what about me??”) But in the end, they’ll go for the brillcream look.
- Richardson for the Democrats. (sure, he’s in the so-called 2nd tier yet) But Hillary polls poorly on every progressive/liberal site under the sun. They’re going to need a candidate who win — and that ain’t Hillary.
