Surprising Alaska Senate Poll Numbers

A lot of people thought Sen. Ted Stevens would be vulnerable in this election, both because of corruption charges and a sharp spike in his craziness in recent years. Still, seeing a new poll having Anchorage mayor Mark Begich beating Stevens by 7 points (51-44) is pretty shocking.Did Anyone Complain When Joseph Guffey Wore a Batman Tie on the Senate Floor? I didn't think so.

Given that Democrats are also favored in the House race, this should also be seen as a positive sign for Barrack Obama, and perhaps a sign that McCain and Governor Sarah Palin have work to do.
